Benfica has agreed mutually to transfer Uruguay striker Darwin Nunez for an initial fee of 75 million euros (£64 million) to Liverpool.

Benfica claimed in a statement that the purchase might potentially reach 100 million euros, surpassing Liverpool’s club-record £75 million paid to Southampton for Dutch center-back Virgil van Dijk in 2018.

He scored 26 goals in 28 games in the second season and won the Portuguese League title as the Portuguese League’s top scorer. Naz was first called up to the international main squad in October 2019 after representing Uruguay at various youth levels. In his first national game, he scored against Peru.

Why is Liverpool One of the most valuable clubs in the world?

Liverpool Football Club is a professional football club in the United Kingdom-based in the city of Liverpool. The club participates in the Premier League, the premier league of British football.

The club was founded in 1892 and joined the football league the following year. Liverpool is one of the most valuable and supported clubs in the world. Manchester United and Everton have long been club rivals. Liverpool was suspended for six years, while other British teams were suspended from European games for five years.

In 2005 and 2019, Liverpool won two additional European Cups, headed by Rafael Benz and Jürgen Klopp. In 2020, the latter guided Liverpool to 20 league championships. This is the club’s first Premier League championship.

Most Expensive Signing In Liverpool’s History

Nunez scored 26 goals in 28 Portuguese league matches last season. The 22-year-old, who was excluded from Uruguay’s 5-0 friendly win over Panama on Saturday, was due to start a two-day physical match on Monday. His personal condition shouldn’t be an issue as the player has expressed his intention to play alongside Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp despite Manchester United’s interest.

After speaking with Benfica for several weeks, Nunez is set to sign a six-year contract with second-placed Liverpool in the Premier League and Champions League. In April, he scored in both matches of Benfica’s Champions League quarter-final loss to Liverpool, drawing praise from Klopp.

Nunez is set to come to Anfield as a direct replacement after Bayern Munich stepped up their search for Sadio Mane. Liverpool has rejected two offers from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich and is asking more than £40m for Mane, who still has a one-year contract.

Nunez will be joining this summer as Takumi Minamino, Sadio Mané, and Divock Origi (most likely) go on to the next stage of their careers. The money raised by the departures of those three will not totally pay Nez’s price, but it will go a long way toward it, and he will undoubtedly be paid less than those three altogether.

Liverpool Flatly Refuses Bayern Munich’s Second Offer For Sadio Mane

Bayern’s first bid for Mane, which is the last year of its Liverpool contract, was rejected and a second bid was rejected in which the amount offered totaled £ 30 million. The second bid is £23.5 million in advance, with incentives increasing from £2.5 million to £6.5 million.

Bayern must win the Champions League three years in a row and Mane must win the Ballon D’Or three times in order for the transfer amount to reach this level. In his six seasons at Anfield, the 30-year-old has won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Club World Cup, and European Super Cup.

James Milner, A Liverpool Midfielder, Has Signed A New One-Year Contract With The Club

The 36-year-old has taken a significant salary drop’ to stay with the Reds after rejecting a couple of other offers. Two Premier League teams and one Major League Soccer club have made proposals to the Englishman. Milner’s new deal is expected to be announced later this week.

Milner joined the Reds from Manchester City in 2015, and he has 26 goals and 44 assists in 289 games in all competitions. The veteran continued to put up excellent effort last season, garnering 39 appearances. He can also play in defensive midfield, central, as well as a right-back. With Milner’s previous contract ending this summer, manager Jurgen Klopp was set about keeping him at Anfield.

Milner has a great Premier League record, having appeared in the competition the fourth-most times of any player. He began his career at Leeds United in 2002 and has since gone on to play for Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and Manchester City. He and Kevin De Bruyne are tied for ninth place in the competition’s all-time assists list.

Furthermore, “Liverpool”, according to Milner, “is a wonderful club with an incredible history, but it hasn’t been as successful, having failed to win the Premier League, which is perplexing.”

“That was the goal, and it would be incredible if we could do it and win the Premier League here. It’s a process, and it’s been great so far. That’s why I’ve come. That was the hope; it was a driving force. When I first arrived at City, they had not won anything in a long time, and it was thrilling to be a part of the beginning of their success, winning leagues, and cups.” he expressed.
