There is more than one talented Polish forward at Bayern Munich. Weronika Zawistowska was acquired by FC Bayern Frauen in 2021 from KKS Czarni Sosnowiec. She spent her rookie season in the Frauen-Bundesliga on loan at 1. FC Köln. She will now be performing in North Rhine-Westphalia again.

Weronika’s loan was extended at the request of all parties, according to Frauen sporting director Bianca Rech. After some acclimatization, Weronika “had a very good season [at Köln] and gained a lot of playing time.”

Rech suggested that building on last year’s successes will be beneficial for Zawistowska’s future development rather than subjecting her to a second significant transition in as many seasons.

In the Women’s Bundesliga in 2021–2022, Köln placed eighth out of twelve teams, and Zawistowska scored three of her team’s 22 season goals in 1839 minutes, which is the second-most time on the squad, according to reports. Since 2019, she has also made 23 appearances for Poland’s senior national team, scoring seven goals.

The Bayern Frauen are now deployed in the front lines, but we’ll be watching this offensive potential closely to see where she goes from here.

By 2024, Zawistowska is bound by a contract.

In preparation for the upcoming season, FC Frauen has added their eighth new player. Weronika Zawistowska will transfer from FC Bayern Munich to FC on a temporary loan.

The 21-year-old forward signed a three-year contract with Bayern this summer after leaving Polish record champions KKS Czarni Sosnowiec. Bayern is currently the FLYERALARM Frauen-Bundesliga champion. She appeared in 16 games and contributed six goals as KKS Czarni Sosnowiec won both the league and cup. On her most recent appearance for the Polish national team, Zawistowska also scored.

The FC Frauen’s sporting director, Nicole Bender, stated: “We were able to sign Weronika on a season-long loan thanks to our solid relationships with FC Bayern Munich. She is a speedy player with good dribbling skills and a winger with a lot of promise and opportunity to grow. She can score goals and is a powerful runner. She significantly advances our objective of becoming established in the Bundesliga.

“I am elated to be a part of 1. FC Köln’s team in the upcoming season and to be able to learn about the Bundesliga,” Weronika Zawistowska remarked. In a very welcoming club, we have a bunch of players with a lot of potential and an excellent coaching staff. I am eager to begin the new season and train with my new teammates.

FC already had Adriana Achcinska, Laura Donhauser, Myrthe Moorrees, Manjou Wilde, Jana Beuschlein, Elvira Herzog, and Irini Ioannidou under contract before bringing in Zawistowska.

In response to a question about the transfers, Bender stated: “Our planning for the upcoming season will be complete when nothing unusual occurs. We are confident that our team has the capacity to play well this season, ensure safety, and advance in terms of football.

FC Frauen will start getting ready for the upcoming season on July 12th. The DFB-Pokal der Women’s opening round is scheduled for August 21 and 22. On the 27th through the 29th of August, FC Frauen will visit SGS Essen for the inaugural Matchday of the new FLYERALARM Frauen-Bundesliga season.

P.S.- German women’s football team FC Bayern Munich is headquartered in Munich, Bavaria. It presently competes in Germany’s top women’s league, the Frauen-Bundesliga.

Weronika Zawistowska, a forward for Bayern Munich who has represented Poland’s women’s national team, was born on December 17, 1999, in Poland.

Zawistowska has played in one international match for Poland, representing the nation in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying process.
