A striker for Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt and the Argentina national team, Lucas Nicolás Alario was born in Argentina on October 8, 1992.
Lucas Alario To Top Tier German
Alario and Eintracht Frankfurt agreed to a two-year contract on June 24, 2022.
Eintracht Frankfurt is about to make its next high-value acquisition, following the sensational signing of Mario Götze. Leverkusen attacker Lucas Alario is on his way to the nation’s commercial city, according to Stephan van Nocks of the German football publication Kicker.
Lucas Alario’s transfer from Bayer Leverkusen to Eintracht Frankfurt has been revealed.
With the Bundesliga team, the 29-year-old has a three-year deal. A deal between the two clubs was reached for an initial €5 million fee, with the fee increasing to above €7 million depending on performance-related bonuses. Bayer Leverkusen had requested €6.5 million.
The 29-year-old center-forward has made 159 appearances and scored 56 goals while playing for Werkself since 2017. The premier South American club River Plate sold the Argentina international to Bayer 04 five years ago.
Alario has scored 42 goals in 126 Bundesliga games, giving the 29-year-old an average of one goal per three matches. The same is true for the Argentina national team, where since his debut in 2016, he has scored three goals in nine games.
Alario, who is already 29 years old, will want to play frequently if he wants to be selected for the Argentina national squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Before heading to Europe, the Tostado native laced up his boots for Club Atlético Colón and River Plate. He won the 2015 Copa Libertadores, the South American version of the UEFA Champions League, with the latter team, the all-time champions in his native country, which is his best accomplishment to date.
Alario averaged 8.4 Bundesliga goals a season at Leverkusen despite stiff competition from Kevin Volland and, more recently, Patrik Schick for the central striker position. In his final season at River Plate, he scored 11 goals in 2020–21, falling just one goal short of matching his career-best output.
The nine-time Argentina international also scored nine UEFA Europa League goals, seven DFB Cup goals, and four goals in nine matches versus Frankfurt, his new team, and the Europa League champions.
Rafael Santos Borre, the club’s leading scorer with 12 goals in 2021/22, will have competition from Alario in the Frankfurt attack. On August 1, when Eintracht plays Magdeburg in the DFB Cup first round, the former CA Colon, River, and Leverkusen forward might make his professional debut.
Frankfurt, who placed 11th in the last Bundesliga season, will open the new campaign at home against defending champions Bayern Munich before facing Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup.
Meanwhile, Five-time Bundesliga champion Götze has reached an agreement on a three-year contract with Deutsche Bank Park. Götze is renowned worldwide for scoring the game-winning goal for Germany in the 2014 FIFA World Cup final.
In 77 games across all competitions for PSV over the past two seasons, the incredibly gifted offensive midfielder, who just turned 30, scored 18 goals and provided 18 assists. In October 2020, he transferred from Borussia Dortmund, where he was playing in his second stint, to the Dutch team.
